The Chair of Governance of the City of València held its annual results presentation event, where the different projects and activities developed throughout the year were presented.
Among the projects presented were two initiatives developed within the framework of AgriGIS, highlighting their main advances, results and applications of geospatial technologies for territorial analysis and management.
Alina Mirsaeva presented the project “Methodology for Parcel-Scale Water Stress Detection Using the FAO-56 Water Balance”. The work develops a methodology that integrates meteorological information, soil characteristics and remote sensing data to assess crop water status. The model makes it possible to detect water stress conditions at parcel scale and supports more efficient irrigation planning and management.
Tariq Akhbour presented the project “Geospatial Analysis of the Huerta de Valencia for the Identification of Priority Areas for Protection and Improvement”. The study uses Geographic Information Systems to analyse agricultural fragmentation, urban pressure and adaptive capacity across the different landscape units of the Huerta de València. These components are then integrated into a territorial vulnerability index that helps identify the areas requiring greater attention in terms of protection, management and improvement.
The event provided an opportunity to share knowledge, highlight the work carried out and demonstrate the potential of data and geospatial technologies to address current challenges in territorial management.
